Undergraduate 研究

Undergraduate research in the department gives students the opportunity to work with faculty in an area of interest. Students may present their research at regional or national conferences. These experiences are valuable when applying for internships, employment, and graduate school.

The department partners with Anne Arundel 社区 College to offer a B.S. 工程 degree with a concentration in Electrical 工程. The department also partners with Cecil College to offer a B.S. 在工程 degree with a concentration in Materials 工程.

Students will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to demonstrate the learning outcomes assessed throughout the curriculum. When students graduate, they will be able to:

1. 识别, 制定, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, 科学, 和数学;
2. Apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, 安全, 和福利, 以及全球, 文化, 社会, 环境, and 经济 factors;
3. Communicate effectively with a range of audiences;
4. Recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, 经济, 环境, and societal contexts;
5. Function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, 建立目标, 计划任务, and meet objectives;
6. Develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions;
